Grilled Chicken Tenders

Grilled Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

1 pound chicken tenders

Two tablespoons of olive oil

Two garlic cloves minced

Two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice

One teaspoon of kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

Commence by extracting the juice from the lemon, ensuring a yield of precisely two tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Proceed to grate the garlic cloves meticulously. Subsequently, within a bowl, amalgamate the lemon juice, finely diced garlic, a measure of two tablespoons of olive oil, one teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of dried oregano, and a half teaspoon of discretionary red pepper flakes. Employ stirring or whisking techniques to thoroughly blend the marinade, ensuring the integration of all constituent elements.

Give a quick pat to dry off 1 pound of chicken tenders using some trusty paper towels. Toss those chicken tenders right into the marinade and give them a gentle mix to make sure they get an even coating. Cover the bowl or seal it up in a plastic bag to keep the flavours locked in. Now, let that chicken marinate at room temperature for a minimum of 20 minutes. Or, if you want to plan ahead, pop it in the fridge and let it marinate for up to 8 hours. The choice is yours!

If you choose to marinate the chicken at room temperature, heat the grill to medium-high, direct heat, which is around 425ºF. If you marinate the chicken in the refrigerator, remove it from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for approximately 30 minutes before grilling.

Once the grill is heated, place the chicken tenders on it and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they are fully cooked through. Make sure to monitor the tenders closely to prevent overcooking.

Once the chicken tenders are cooked, remove them from the grill and serve immediately.

Tips:

To kick up the flavour of your marinade, go for the zing of freshly squeezed lemon juice and grate those garlic cloves instead of relying on the store-bought stuff.

No red pepper flakes on hand? No worries! Just sprinkle in a tad of cayenne pepper to bring some heat to the marinade.

Don't have a grill? No problemo! You can still savour those delightful chicken tenders by baking them in the oven. Raise the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and let those tenders bake for around 15-20 minutes until they're cooked through and through. Enjoy!

Enjoy your delicious grilled chicken tenders!
